Seth J. Crapp, M.D. was born in Trenton, New Jersey but reared in Miami, Florida where he completed his primary, secondary and college education. After graduating from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and certification in Environmental Studies, he worked in the pharmaceutical industry as an analytical chemist. Shortly, thereafter he matriculated at Meharry Medical College School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee earning his Doctor of Medicine degree. After completion of his medical training, Dr. Crapp completed an internship at Mount Auburn Hospital as a clinical fellow in medicine at Harvard Medical School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has been a physician in the Department of Radiology at the University Of Florida College Of Medicine in Jacksonville, Florida, since June 2006. Dr. Crapp has presented at national meetings of radiological and medical societies and is published in his field. His research interest includes imaging of pediatric neurological and musculoskeletal, and cardiovascular systems with magnetic resonance imaging. Other interests include quality improvement and safety in diagnostic imaging, particularly radiation dose reduction in pediatric patients undergoing imaging studies, and advancements in health information technology. Since 2008, Dr. Crapp has been a member of the American College of Radiology's Committee on Pediatric Radiology and assisted in formulation of the ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards in Pediatric Imaging. He will undertake a subspecialty fellowship in Pediatric Radiology at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN in July 2010. His personal interests include volunteer work, jazz and art appreciation and travel.
